Pain:Ask any ISV what is the big challenge, one definite answer would be the difficulty in delivering the solution. At the outset it might look like delivering an AOD but the complexity multiplies with supplying patches, fixes and when there are multiple ISV/VAR based solutions installed at the install base.
Solution:A build framework that extended TFS to support task based check-in, follwed by a system to automatically build xpo's based on periods/tasks. This was then used to generate a release note that include details of modules modified, funcional changes, components added, deleted, modified. This feature dramatically helped in distributing to the solution to VAR in terms of integration/merge etc.
Pleasure:Soon we had on touch build that delivers a complete package to FTP automatically. All that a patch or full delivery needs was the date when the last delivery was made to the customer. The rest is generated through the system and loaded to the customer location at Innovites FTP.
